Description
Apple iPad Air (5th generation) A2589 64GB in Space Gray — Wholesale B/C Stock
Built for business deployments, field operations, and managed device programs, the Apple iPad Air (5th generation) was announced in March 2022 and brought the Apple M1 chip, with an octa-core CPU, an 8-core GPU and 8GB of RAM, to the mid-range iPad line. It pairs a 10.9-inch Liquid Retina IPS LCD at 1640 x 2360 (~264 ppi, 500 nits) with a 12MP wide rear camera that records 4K video up to 60fps and a 12MP ultrawide front camera with a 122-degree field of view. A 7,600mAh (28.6 Wh) battery charges over USB-C, and the USB-C 3.1 Gen 2 port supports DisplayPort output. The tablet ships with iPadOS 15.4 and is upgradable to iPadOS 26.4; Apple has no software update commitment published for a fixed number of years. The aluminum body measures 247.6 x 178.5 x 6.1 mm and the 5G model weighs 462 g. This lot is the A2589 (Wi-Fi + Cellular model) in the 64GB configuration, Space Gray, carrier locked with the carrier unconfirmed, and graded B/C Stock.
This model fits standard-issue business fleets, field operations, and refresh programs that need cellular connectivity away from office Wi-Fi: the A2589 carries a 5G sub-6 GHz radio with Nano-SIM and eSIM, so mobile staff, inspectors and delivery teams can stay connected in the field once the lock status of each unit is cleared. The M1 chip keeps the platform current for productivity, forms and line-of-business apps, and the B/C grade lowers the cost per seat for case-protected deployments, loaner pools and spares where cosmetic wear does not affect use.

Enterprise Deployment and Management
iPadOS supports Apple Business Manager and Apple School Manager with Automated Device Enrollment, so units can be assigned to an organization and enrolled into mobile device management at first setup. Supervised devices can be managed through mainstream MDM suites such as Jamf Pro, Microsoft Intune, VMware Workspace ONE and Kandji, with app distribution, configuration profiles, restrictions and remote lock or wipe. Managed Apple Accounts and Shared iPad suit education and shift-based teams that pass devices between users. Before enrollment, buyers should confirm that each unit is released from any previous organization and that Activation Lock is off. Who Buys This Lot
TodaysCloseout supplies this lot to IT procurement teams, government and education purchasers, healthcare device programs, resellers, and refurbishers sourcing documented Apple tablet inventory at wholesale volume. B/C Stock suits loaner and spares pools, rugged-case deployments, refurbishers, and parts-and-repair programs, and the M1 platform makes it a practical choice for refurbish-and-resell programs that want a cellular iPad with a current iPadOS release. Because the carrier is unconfirmed, the lot is best suited to buyers who can check IMEI status and handle activation or unlock steps in house.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What does B/C Stock mean for this lot?
A: Units in this lot are graded B/C Stock, a mix of the middle tiers, presenting with clearly visible signs of prior use. B/C Stock is a mix of Grade B and Grade C used units. Grade B units show light to moderate cosmetic wear; Grade C units show heavier cosmetic wear such as visible scratches, scuffs, or dents. All units are fully functional and tested. Grade mix and accessory or packaging inclusion are confirmed at quotation.
Q: What is the difference between A2588 and A2589?
A: GSMArena lists A2588, A2589 and A2591 for the iPad Air (5th generation). The A2588 is the Wi-Fi-only model; the A2589 in this lot is the Wi-Fi + Cellular model with a 5G radio, Nano-SIM and eSIM. Display, M1 chip, cameras and battery are the same across the models.
Q: What is the carrier status of this lot?
A: This lot is carrier locked with the carrier unconfirmed. Confirm network association and activation eligibility by IMEI before deployment.
Q: Is this lot 5G-capable?
A: Yes. GSMArena lists 5G (SA/NSA, sub-6 GHz) and 4G LTE for the iPad Air (2022) cellular model; mmWave is not listed. Cellular use depends on each unit's lock status, so confirm band support and activation eligibility with the intended carrier before deployment.
Q: Are these units ready for enterprise fleet management?
A: Yes, once each unit is released from any prior organization and Activation Lock is off. The iPad Air (5th generation) supports Apple Business Manager, Automated Device Enrollment and standard MDM suites (see Enterprise Deployment and Management above).
Q: What should buyers check before re-enrolling these iPads?
A: Check that Activation Lock is disabled, that each serial number is not assigned to another organization in Apple Business Manager, and that the IMEI shows the expected lock status. These checks are part of standard intake for used cellular iPads.
Q: Can this lot ship together with other inventory?
A: Yes. TodaysCloseout can consolidate this lot with other inventory in the same shipment; ask at quotation and the combined order is confirmed together.
Q: How is ordering handled for this lot?
